​Amanda Lafleur enjoys working with the LSU sur les Deux Bayous program.  She retired recently as the Coordinator of Cajun Studies at Louisiana State University.  She has devoted her life to education.  She is worked in Louisiana Higher Education, in the Lafayette Parish School System as the Coordinator of French Immersion. Prior to that time, she was a French teacher in the Lafayette Parish School System.

Amanda attended the Université de Moncton. Non-degree option (graduate and undergraduate courses), Acadian literature, folklore and linguistics.

She obtained her Master of Arts (M.A.), French, Louisiana State University and Agricultural and Mechanical College.  Her Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), French was also from Louisiana State University and Agricultural and Mechanical College

She is a native of Ville Platte.
